Really great value, very good food and a vibrant atmosphere. The service was a bit erratic and slow but then the place was packed so it’s to be expected to some extent. Steak-frites was class, as was the French onion soup.

Great food at an unbeatable price. Fat recommendation for the beef and chips with the pepper sauce on the lunch menu. The coq au vin is also quite nice and tender. Didn’t catch any of the staff’s names but they were all lovely. Not my my first or last time coming, a must when in Edinburgh. Make sure to get a reservation as getting a table from 12-4 might be a challenge as a walk-in.

My local friend here has recommended “Chez Jules” for sometimes, and we finally got to this on a weekday lunchtime, it is completely well as said. We have gone through a X’mas lunch menu, which was done with a great delicious! The good price and speedy services of this little French restaurant won’t affect their overall quality. Just want to say, “don’t stay too long there” and let the others behind to enjoy too!

I went to this restaurant with high expectations which were definitely met. The food was in my opinion some of the best I’ve ever had, the price was really good considering that I got their lunch deal, the servers were super friendly and quick. The atmosphere was really cosy and I left the place with my expectations exceeded. Would definitely recommend!!

There is nothing Scottish about this place. The food, wine and atmosphere is all French. At the same time, there is nothing French about this place. The great service, fun, and approachability here is all Scottish. The food is seriously DEELISH. Don't come here for a working lunch. It's loud and fun, so bring friends and enjoy great wine time together. Sidenote, the mixed olive sampler is free and wonderful. Ask your server to top off the sampler and you're likely to receive a big, free bowl! Yes, it's that sort of place where the fun and food runs deep.

Our waiter was great, helped us pick a great wine to compliment our meal. The additional sides which accompany the main meal are a lovely touch. I had the macaroni as a main- it was the best macaroni I’ve ever had. The lighting is also very aesthetically pleasing if that’s your thing!

We've tried a lot of different French restaurants in many different cities. It's not an overstatement to say that this was the best French restaurant we've ever eaten. We absolutely loved everything. The staff is really polite and attentive. Thank you. We hope to be back one day.

Had a fantastic lunch at Chez Jules! I went for the steak and French onion soup from their lunch menu, and both were absolutely delicious – full of flavour and beautifully prepared. I was also pleasantly surprised with a wee snack on the house before my meal arrived, which was such a lovely touch. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout. A wonderful experience all around – I’ll definitely be back!
